National newspapers, the Times and the Scottish Sun, as well as the Dundee Courier and Christian publication, Life & Work magazine, have found CVM Scotland’s Stephen McGuire’s (CVM National Director: Scotland) vision for what we’re looking to achieve Quickfire (4th March), news worthy.
The Scottish Sun said, ‘what better way to lure more fellas into the house of God, than to promise them chats about porn (from a Godly viewpoint of course), man caves and gambling. Then arm them with Nerf guns so they can ‘shoot’ speakers who ramble on a bit too much.’
The Dundee Courier wrote, ‘As well as attracting members back to church, it will be a rare chance for men to candidly discuss issues that affect them. That should be praised.’
While The Times reported, ‘The issue [of falling male church attendance] has prompted the Kirk (church) to host a male-only gathering at Barclay Viewforth Church in Edinburgh. The event, which will take place in March, promises to “tool up†men and give them the confidence to proclaim their Christian views in public.’
