Work with prisoners and ex offenders
At the 'Gathering' back in June, CVM launched its partnership with Care For Ex-Offenders.
CFEO work across the UK, mentoring and offering practical help to Ex-Offenders as they rehabilitate into society on release from prison. Since announcing this partnership, we have also been contacted by other charities and Chaplains working with prisoners whilst still serving their sentences. Many of these guys come from situations where they have had no positive male role models, and have expressed an interest in faith while 'inside'.
CFEO, other charities and Chaplaincies are keen to hear from individuals and Church Groups who would like to get involved in some aspect of working with prisoners, either before or after release. Necessary training will of course be provided!
If you want more information, or feel that this is an area where you and / or your Men's Group can get stuck in, please contact us at the CVM Office and we will link you up with the team at CFEO or a local prison.
This is a great opportunity to introduce Jesus to guys who have, for whatever reason, fallen into tough times…
