COME AND CANOE 127 MILES DOWN THE THAMES
CVM have teamed up with our friends at Christian adventure charity, Adventure Plus (A+) to offer you a great physical challenge that will also support the work of both organisations.

Witney to Westminster...
Taking place across 6 days, the adventure starts just 30 minutes from the site of The Gathering. It then heads 127 miles down 'Old Father Thames' through the spires of Oxford, the race course at Henley, past Windsor Castle and the playing fields of Eton, on to Hampton Court Palace, through Twickenham and Richmond, eventually joining the course of the University Boat Race and right into the heart of London.
When...
The Witney to Westminster Canoe challenge will run from Saturday 11th - Thursday 16th May and is the 6th time A+ have held the event. If you can’t do the whole trip, there may be a chance to sign up for a 2/3-day stint, if space allows.
Accommodation & food...
Participants will be fully supported during the 6-day trip and it will all be done in the serenity of 'Canadian' open canoes with qualified coaches to lead you every paddle stroke of the way. Accommodation (in-door camping eg in church halls) and wonderfully delicious home cooked meals are provided every night by very kind churches and community organisations as you progress along the route.
Cost...
You will be required to raise funds to take part in this trip. There is a suggested minimum level of sponsorship we ask you to raise and funds will be split 50:50 between CVM and A+.
CVM will even throw in a cheeky little prize to whoever raises the most!

Experience required...
No experience is necessary, but it helps if you have a reasonable level of fitness and A+ will be running training sessions prior to the event, as required depending on your level of canoeing experience. Info on that training in the link below.
Book your place...
Places are limited and operate on a first-come-first-served basis - with priority given to those who can make the full 6 days.
