CVM invites you to join some of our guys at the Prison Ministry Conference on Friday, 7th November, hosted by Caring for Ex-Offenders (CFEO) and the William Wilberforce Trust.
We work alongside CFEO to encourage our men's groups to become that new set of friends that newly released ex-offenders desperately need.
Whether you have been working in this field for years or are just exploring, whether you are excited by a growing ministry or are facing great challenges in your work, the day is for you. We want you to be encouraged and equipped, and to encounter inspiring stories of transformation in our communities across the UK.
The statistics are stark: 75% of men in prison have no meaningful relationship with their father. The lack of a strong male role model is a key factor in many young men falling into a life of crime. There’s a real opportunity for men in the Church to respond to this deep need.
This year's focus, Rescue - Restore - Reintegrate, will look at how we journey with people from moments of crisis, through getting back on their feet, to successfully reintegrating into the local community.
With brilliant speakers including Minister for Prisons Andrew Selous; Bishop to Prisons James Langstaff; James Timpson speaking on the Timpson ex-offender work programme; and Director of 24-7 Prayer Brian Heasley, this will be a day to meet together and explore our call to welcome the vulnerable and marginalised into our communities.
