On 8th Sept our Chairman, Ian Manifold, set off on his bike to ride across The Pyrenees, to raise funds for CVM.
The ride is called The Pyrenean Raid and it’s 450 miles and 35,000 feet of climbs and has to be completed in 4 1/2 days.
Well, HE DID IT! He completed the whole thing (and more) in the allotted time. Ian contacted our office to say;
"Thanks ever so much to all who sponsored me on my Pyrenean ride, for CVM. Le Raid, as it is known by the fiendish French club who invented it, was even worse than we had planned—472 miles and 41,500 feet of climbs in 4 and a half days, when we got the stats off the Garmin (Bike satnav). There was half an hour to spare before the deadline, at the end—so good job I didn’t stop for an extra ice cream. Amazing what you can do if you are an idiot.
Thanks again, God Bless
Ian"
