Applications to work as a volunteer at next year’s Rugby extravaganza are now open, but you must move quickly. CVM are part of Engage2015, who are seeking to mobilise churches, men’s groups etc to use the opportunity of the big tournament, in building relationships with their non churched friends.
Engage2015 is working to be recognized as an official ‘body’ within the Rugby World Cup 2015 network of involved organisations. Applications to volunteer that come though this ‘channel will help that objective.
The World Cup organisers are looking for ‘The Pack’, a 6,000-strong group of volunteers who will be the face of RWC 2015.
While next year’s RWC will be a great celebration of rugby featuring the world’s best players and a global TV audience of millions, the delivery of the tournament will be underpinned by the hard-work and dedication of an outstanding group of volunteers.
Rugby has a fantastic volunteer base already and 75% of 'The Pack' will come from rugby clubs. If you are a member of a rugby club in England or Wales then be sure to speak to your club representative to find out more about the programme.
As well as the volunteers through the rugby clubs, around 1,500 other volunteers are still needed and this is where you come in. However to apply to work as a volunteer, you first need to be registered with ‘The Front Row’ by March 14.
