Mike lives in Maidstone with his wife Wendy, together they have worshiped in the parish of “All Saints” Loose since 2015. Wendy was diagnosed with a Stage 4 Cancerous brain tumour at the end of 2017. Although a very difficult journey, Wendy and Mike have bizarrely taken the cancer as a blessing, as it has had a profound effect on them both, bringing them so much closer to the LORD and each other.
Up until February 2019 Mike took time off work to care for Wendy, research alternative therapies for the cancer and read his Bible and study the theology behind it, answering many of the big questions that he had. Before all this occurred Mike was a Site Manager for a local construction company, and had a range of jobs before that, including running his own business, working in a health club and being an outdoor pursuits instructor.
Mike was brought up in a Christian household and attended a Roman Catholic school. However, although what you could call a believer at a young age, you wouldn’t necessarily have called him a dedicated follower of Christ’s teachings.
Mike and Wendy had been attending St James the Great in East Malling on and off since they married in 2004, but felt a calling to All Saints Loose, where their Faith has grown ever since. Mike and Wendy were both involved in the All Saints youth work “Rooted” and Mike, after attending and inviting people along to two Christianity explored courses and a life explored course, now feels a passion and calling to evangelism to men locally.
