Meet the Team
Grant Robbins: Farnworth
I am Grant and I grew up in South Africa before moving over to England in 2001 and after spending 18 years in the London and Dorking and Redhill area I moved up north and am now living in Farnworth, Bolton. I completed my Diploma in Civil Engineering and worked in the Engineering field for 20 years, both in South Africa and England. I then felt the need for a career change and spent 13 years working as a bookkeeper for a local charity and then 8 months for Brighton and Hove City Mission. I am currently working as the Team Leader of the Eden Farnworth team in Bolton where I have been since February 2020.
I am married to Shaleen and we have 2 cats, Mack and Kimi. I enjoy all sports especially rugby and cricket and am an avid supporter of the Harlequins rugby team. In my younger days I was a very keen runner and competed in various marathons and ultra-marathons (56 miles) as well as some mountain biking and open water swimming events.
I have assisted and been involved in Men’s Ministry in varying capacities for several years and am extremely passionate about this area of church life. I also meet with men on a one-to-one basis to discuss challenging situations they may be experiencing. My passion is very much about coming alongside Christian men (and men who are seeking) and so that they can live in the freedom that Christ intended.
Over the last few years, I have volunteered for several other Christian organisations. I spent several years as a volunteer Chaplain at Gatwick Airport. I headed up The Recovery Course in the Redhill and Reigate area and I have just run the first online Recovery Course in 2020. I have helped facilitate men’s groups on the Click to Kick course (which is part of the Naked Truth Project)
I came across CVM about 12 years ago after attending a CVM conference. Since then I have been a keen supporter of CVM and especially ‘The Gathering’ which I look forward to each year.
I am excited and encouraged at all God is doing through my role with CVM. Do get in touch if you want to meet up over a coffee; I'd love to connect with you.
