Meet the Team
Grant Robbins: Farnworth
I am Grant and I grew up in South Africa before moving over to England in 2001 and finally settled in Redhill in 2006 after spending some time in London and Dorking. I completed my Diploma in Civil Engineering and worked in the Engineering field for 20 years, both in South Africa and England. I then felt the need for a career change and am currently working in finance for a local charity where I have been for the last 11 years.
I am married to Shaleen and we have 2 cats, Mack and Kimi. I enjoy all sports especially rugby and cricket and am an avid supporter of the Harlequins rugby team. In my younger days I was a very keen runner and competed in various marathons and ultra-marathons (56 miles) as well as some mountain biking and open water swimming events.
I have assisted and been involved in Men’s Ministry in varying capacities for several years and am extremely passionate about this area of church life. I also meet with men on a one-to-one basis to discuss challenging situations they may be experiencing. My passion is very much about coming alongside Christian men (and men who are seeking) and so that they can live in the freedom that Christ intended.
I am excited and encouraged at all God is doing through my role with CVM.
Currently, I am also a volunteer Chaplain at Gatwick Airport, volunteering my time in this way two Saturdays each month when I lead short Christian services at the chapels in both the north and south terminals; do pop along to say hi if you are at either terminal on a Saturday morning; the services are usually announced throughout the airport.
I also head up The Recovery Course in the Redhill and Reigate areas at St Mary’s Church Reigate.
I came across CVM about 12 years ago after attending a CVM conference. Since then I have been a keen supporter of CVM in many ways, including taking on my role as coordinator for Redhill, Reigate and surrounds and especially attending The Gathering which I look forward to each year.
Do get in touch if you want to meet up over a coffee; I'd love to connect with you.
