George was born in Bulgaria, in the last year of the Communist regime. Having grown up in a ‘normal’ family, with a strong and solid father, and a hard-working mother, he never questioned anything in regard to life, his family’s values, or his own inner struggles. In truth, he did not know real love, and lived a lonely, isolated childhood. He grew up in the shadow of his father, whom he idolized and feared deep down. George lived with chronic anxiety, severe depression, and numbed his inner pain with pleasures; for years he took the easy road in life until one day he met the girl who would make him leave the life of comfort and relocate to England, where he first encountered the harsh realities of the life he had always avoided. After two long years, during which his darkest struggles had come to the surface, he found himself in a field in Zambia, crying out to God for help.
The following years brought George to a deeper and deeper realization of the heart of God and, as a result, he allowed more and more of what he had once thought to be his true self to be dismantled and taken from him. But the hardest thing to go was his perception of the word ‘Father’…
This event is open to both men and women.
