Meet the Team
David Pearson: Essex
David is a retired C of E vicar who was born in South Africa, but who has lived in the UK since 2000. He now lives in Rochford, Essex. He came to faith in God as a teenager and has been an ordained minister for 40 years. Together with Mary, his wife, and their three children, he has ministered in many parishes ranging from cosmopolitan Cape Town to far flung Kuruman on the edge of the Kalahari, where the Bible was first translated into Sechuana. He spent three years as Padre on the remote island parish of Tristan da Cunha where he much enjoyed the fishing!
David’s hobbies include growing vegetables on an allotment. He also enjoys woodwork, shooting and cooking, and is interested in survival skills and sustainable living.
David attended CVM’s Gathering in 2017 and enjoyed it so much that he volunteered to help as a steward in 2018. On his retirement from parish ministry he offered to increase his involvement with CVM as he has always felt led to outreach to men, as there are so few men in churches, and he believes that CVM offers a valuable ministry.
“I believe that reaching men is vital for the faith, the family and even the nation. Despite being largely led by men the institutional church seems to have failed men; time for change!”
