This was part of the positive feedback I received when welcoming guys to CVM The Gathering in 2015. I’ll never forget it. The guy who said it was in the scaffolding trade, had attended for the first time the year before, loved it so much that he had returned and brought thirteen of his friends with him!
He was not a church goer but had been massively impacted by the experience. Hence bringing so many friends with him.
This is just one of many encouraging stories that we have the privilege in helping to create at CVM. The Gathering has been running for over 10 years and has developed into something really special for men of the church to invite their mates. You can only understand this by going and being part of it.
I could tell you about all the amazing fun things that you can enjoy across the weekend like quad biking, axe throwing, wall climbing, riding the longest mobile zip wire in Europe, plunging into the full-size stunt bag, the sword fighting and wrestling workshops, the inflatables and zorbs, the football and laser tag, and lots more!
There is entertainment, comedy, banter, games & quizzes, with food vans serving a whole variety of delicious meals, and a full-size bar serving refreshments to cater for everyone’s taste.
There are seminars and talks around the real, raw, and relevant issues that men face today, together with bible teaching and prayer.
But where we see men’s lives really impacted, is upon hearing the Gospel, and the powerful stories of other men who have heard the Gospel message and made the decision to respond. And in doing so, have had a profound encounter with the son of God, this man called Jesus Christ. Not only have they encountered him, but they have also been transformed by him and his word, in ways they never expected. They have received a freedom and forgiveness they never knew they needed, a peace they’ve never known, and an eternal reassurance that cannot be found anywhere else. An encounter with Jesus draws many to follow him.
And this encounter, to meet with the living God, is an invitation that is open to all. And each year, men come forward, responding to the gospel, to receive that forgiveness, freedom, peace, and joy.
The Gathering takes place on 24-26 June 2022 – this year, we need your help to book ASAP to make it another truly memorable event. WHY? Well, here is a critical update from CVM President Carl Beech.
