Welcome back and to the last in my top 3 men’s event list.
Number 3:
PIE & CHIPS
Now. recently, Beechy and I went on a truck tour. We try and get around the country a few times a year to meet the men’s groups, area coordinators, and any guys who stand with CVM. This time we went up to Scotland, via Sheffield, then back down via Liverpool and Stoke and more.
Whilst in Liverpool, we had been working with Mike Hindley a vicar over there who has a massive heart for reaching the blokes. Mike has journeyed with CVM for years now and what hit me was that all the stuff we suggest, Mike is doing and it works!
Mike had set up a level 2 evening with a great group of guys he is walking with. We had darts, a quiz, top 10’s, all the banter and laughs, even getting me and Beechy dressed up whilst eating pie and chips. It was just a great night for the men and Mike hosted the night, a great welcome to all the guys showing up and it was a pack out.
After the meal he had asked us to just share a bit with the guys, our stories of faith and how to live the CODE.
Seeing this event in action really encouraged me, it was engaging, fun and something that connected with the guys in a powerful way. The level 2 events are great because it builds on existing momentum and when done well it’s a great evening and the guys will benefit from the work and effort that goes into it.
