Meet the Team
Max Cross: Petersfield
Raised on the outskirts of Pompey (Portsmouth) the eldest of four boys, with a father who was often ill, my young life was interesting. It wasn't until my late twenties that the Big Man got my attention. As I held my first child in my arms I knew there was more to life than the money and career I had been chasing.
So the investigation began, and one year later I committed my life to follow Jesus as my leader, friend and saviour. My mother said to dad, 'I think he's serious about this God stuff'. The old man replied, 'you know what he's like, it will be all or nothing.' So I'm all in.
I spent twenty years as a self employed IT Project Manager, working for some
great companies along the way. The Bank of England, Great Ormond Street Hospital, Virgin Atlantic to name a few. So I know what it is like to do the commuter run, raise a family and still want to be committed to Jesus and His church.
A band of brothers is so important otherwise we are just going to crash and burn. My proudest achievement is, along with my wife Suzy raising three incredible now adult children, who are on their own journey with Jesus. In 2014 I took up a full time leadership role in the local church, so the challenges are different now, but the journey is the same. To seek to become, and enable others to become what God made us to be.
My spare time such as it is, consist of geek stuff like web design etc, surfing (badly) when I can, and enjoying a decent ale. But actually I would much rather be helping others discover that Jesus is far from meek and mild, and actually offers us the greatest challenge we will ever come across. To live a life running with Him.
