Bob Fraser: Regional Director, North West / Wigan and Leigh

Bob Fraser

Bob Fraser has a background in professional building design, construction and project management, and also trained as a teacher. He is also a singer songwriter. He was one of the early pioneers of contemporary Christian music in the UK, recording two albums as front man with popular 70s country rock band Canaan, and playing with them at prestigious venues including The Royal Albert hall in London and The Usher hall in Edinburgh. Bob has also released twelve solo albums and a further ten include his songs and vocals. His most recent album includes songs which were commissioned to mark the centenary of the Great War.
Bob is involved regularly as a volunteer in prison ministry, leading worship and singing his own songs, and also leading a small group of male offenders in restorative justice courses running throughout the year.
In 2006 Bob began to work through some thinking about masculinity and faith in God, resulting in a desire to encourage other blokes struggling with life and faith issues. Articles were written as a blog and these pieces are currently being developed into a small group resource.
Since 2013 Bob has been running a local group for men of faith, creating a safe place for blokes to belong, express views about life and faith and build friendship. In 2017 the group started a monthly Breakfast for Blokes, drawing in other local men of faith with a view to reaching out to others via a series of bridge building events.
