Meet the Team
Andy Lancey: South Manchester
Andy is married to Ruth and they have two young children. Andy runs his own travel business called Great British Trips which he started with Ruth in 2010.
Originally from the south coast, Andy came up north to university at Huddersfield in 1994, to study Transport and Logistics. Although brought up going to an Anglican church, he all but stopped going to church during teenage years. Whilst at uni Andy became a Christian and things changed forever!
After uni, Andy moved over the Pennines to Manchester for a job. He has been living in and around South Manchester since then. After feeling that this career in logistics was not really where God wanted him to be, he took the brave step of faith in quitting his job without having anything lined up! Almost immediately though, God provided him with an opportunity to work out in rural Zambia for 4 months with a small charity called Dignity.
Andy is part of the leadership team at the People's church Partington, which he and Ruth have attended since 2010. He serves as a deacon and has been leading the men's ministry at the church for the past few years. He also serves in the worship team playing the keyboard, and occasionally the trumpet too.
Andy is passionate about the need to disciple men in church as well as share the good news to men in the wider community. Becoming a dad recently he also wants to encourage other dads in being Godly fathers.
